I have taken care of dogs and cats as a caregiver and dog walker since I first started walking my neighbors' dogs when I was 8 years old in 1988. I started housesitting and being in charge of people's pets while they were out of town since I was 10 years old. I have had dogs and cats and other small pets my entire life, basically since I was born. In addition to having my own furry, feathered, and scaled babies, I spent a summer volunteering at Rancho Coastal Humane Society in 1995. I was in charge of dog and cat feedings, kennel cleanings, walks, playtime, brushing, and also helped tend to the orphaned kittens that were brought in as well as entertaining the kittens and cats in the cattery.

 

In my adult life I have had three cats, and three dogs of my own and a cockatiel, as well as my two kids' assorted critters (which range from hamsters, to fish, lizards, and even praying mantises, etc. We currently even have pet snails!). I have also had some experience taking care of horses.

I am unable to offer overnights(my house or yours) or daycare services in my own home at this time, but in a client's home I am glad to assist with feedings, brushings, providing fresh water, playtime, making sure the pets have been able to get out and relieve themselves or that cat litter boxes are well maintained. I'm comfortable helping administer pill medicines if required. If any messes have occurred before my arrival, I will clean them if the supplies are made available.
